Christmas Programs Over the Years

Hey Guys!!

So, with Thanksgiving in only two days, and Christmas only a month away, I have been really looking forward to the holidays. And one of my favorite parts of the holidays, are the Christmas programs that my church puts on every year. Here are some pictures from past Christmas programs. :)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
This is a picture of me and my friends Julia and Brianna, when we did the Christmas play, "Flower of the Holy Night" in 2006. I played Pablo, (but since I'm a girl, we changed the name to Isabelle) who was the main character. I was a poor mexican girl who wanted to give Jesus a gift, even though she didn't have anything to give. That play was a lot of fun. We bought this funky dress at goodwill, and then spray tanned my skin to make me look mexican. They also dyed my hair. It was very fun. :)

The next year, in 2007, our Church did the play called "3 Wise Men and a Baby." In this play, I played Sparklett, a french star who baked a birthday cake for Jesus. I wasn't the lead that year, but I didn't care. It was fun to be in it. In this picture, my friends Julia, Cori, and Abby and I were doing the motions to one of the songs. We were the 4 stars in the play.

In fall 2008, our church had a "split." A lot of people left, because the church wanted to do something that they didn't like, so they left to start there own church. Well, a few of the people that left were the people that directed the Children's Christmas plays. So, someone stepped up only a few weeks before Christmas, and volunteered to direct the play. The play was called "A Mouse's tale." It was very short, and since a lot of the children that were in the kids class left the church with there parents, the choir wasn't very big. So, the director asked me and my friends to be in the choir, even though we were now to old. Plus, the day before the play, the person that was supposed to play the innkeeper got sick, so, I had to learn the one line that the innkeeper had. :) lol But it was fun!

If you were following my blog last year around this time, you might remember that I wrote and directed the teen Christmas play. I wasn't in it, because I found out that I like directing the plays better than acting in them. Last years play was called "A Manger Carol" A Christian version of "A Christmas Carol." The play went amazing! And I am still super proud of everyone that turned my writing into life. :)

And finally, there is this year. Once again, I wrote and am in the process of directing this one. This year, it is called "Codename: The Bright Messiah." It is about the innkeepers children who want to find this Messiah that everyone is talking about, so that he can save their parents inn. They look all over Bethlehem, and find out that the Messiah is sleeping in their manger. The program is December 12th. I am super excited, and worried all at the same time. I know that some of the cast members are really excited about this, but a lot of them don't seamed as dedicated. I just hope that they learn their lines really soon. I would love it if you could all pray for the play.

Thank you all so much, and thanks for reading! ~Sammy

Christmas Programs Once Again!!! :)

Hey Everyone!!!!

So, if you remember last year, I wrote a Christmas program called, "A Manger Carol" that the youth group at my church preformed. It was so much fun. Here is a short video of a practice of it.

The play turned out great! Anyway, at the beginning of this year, I wrote another play. It is called, "Codename: The Bright Messiah" And after a lot of looking over, the church said that the youth group could do it again this year. Yesterday, we had our third practice. I am SO surprised how well this program is coming together so quickly! Here is a video I took last Sunday, at our second practice.

As you can see, these practices are so much fun! I can't wait to see the whole thing all put together! It will be great! :)

If you have a facebook, you can like us, and watch the whole program come together, week by week. Just search in facebook, "Codename: Bright Messiah, Monroe Naz Youth Group Christmas Program" And we will be there!!!

Thanks for reading guys, and I hope you all have a great week!!! ~Sammy

Basketball, Dress Rehearsals, and Charlie Brown

This is a quick post, because I don't have much to post about. But I'm going to quickly show you a picture. So, this is a Picture of Chrissa in her Detroit Pistons Jersey.

She is a BIG sports fan, and she has been cheering for Detroit since the beginning of the season. She is always begging me to let her stay up and watch the games. But, I always have to tell her that it's time for bed. I mean, some of the games last until like, 11:00pm. That is Way to late for Chrissa to be staying up for. Isn't DVR great? :)

Oh yeah!! The Christmas program is in only 3 days!!! I'm SO excited!!! The last practice is the dress rehearsal on Saturday! It's going to be a 3 hour practice, so, We could get threw it about 3 times. Plus, we are going to be watching The Charlie Brown Christmas on the big screens in the sanctuary. It's going to be a fun, but bussy day!!!

A Manger Carol

Hey Guys!!! I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving!! I sure did!! My Grandparents and Uncle came over for lunch, Turkey, Stuffing, Potato's, Corn, Bread, Cranberry Sauce, Sweet Potato Casserole, and of course, Pumpkin Pie. Then that night, we went over to my cousin's on my dad's side of the family, for more desserts. It was a great day!!! But this post isn't about Thanksgiving, It's about, "A Manger Carol." What's that???? Well, Like I said in a past post, I wrote, and directing the Christmas program that the youth group at our church is going to preform. And I'm going to post about that. Well, First, I'm going to tell you about the play. The story is a Christian version of "The Christmas Carol." In the play, Bethany Coleman, (My Friend Michaela) Is a Spoiled, Rich, girl who's father owns a department store, (Coleman's Department Store, that is,) and Bethany thinks Christmas is all about her. So She wants the Church choir that her father hired to sing at the department store on Christmas day, to sing un-Christian Christmas songs. But Molly, the Choir director, (My Other Friend Cori) Wants to sing Christian Christmas songs. So Molly prayers that Bethany will learn the true meaning of Christmas. So that night, while Bethany's Sleeping, her Grandfather (My Friend, Brianna's dad)Comes, and tells her that she will be visited by three angels, The Angels of Christmas Past Past, Past Present, and Past Future. (The Past is the first Christmas, so, Past Past, is before the First Christmas, past present is on the first Christmas, and past future is a couple years after the first Christmas.) Anyway, The Angels are Gabriel, (My Friend Julia's brother) who tells Mary that she is going to have Jesus, Cal the Shepherd, (Nick, a kid in the Youth Group) who shows Bethany the Shepherds and Angels, and Mary, (My friend Erin) who shows Jesus (Jerry, the youth group leader) healing a blind man when he is an adult. So then when Bethany Wakes up, she goes and talks to Molly, who helps her accept Christ. The play is about 45 min long, and at the end, Ariel, (A girl in the youth group) sings Mary did you know. So, I'm really excited about it. It's going to be on the 13, which is only 12 days away!!! Please pray that the program goes well!!! And here are some pics!!!

As you can see, it's alot of work, but It's also alot of fun. :)
